One of my joys
is to be able to welcome new people into our large parish community. I hope
you will be happy and that the parish meets your expectations.
Joining a church is not like joining some
club, but rather you are entering into a faith community with mutual
obligations. Entering this faith community of St. Peter's is like any
other relationship you have; you want and expect a give-and-take with the
people of your life. All give with no return and all take with no giving is
hurtful and eventually destructive to the relationship.
So with us at St. Peter's, we are holding
out a collective hand and we want you to grasp it. We are willing to bond
ourselves to you in faith, hope and love and we ask the same from you. We
are looking for active involvement because we are more interested in having
a real faith family than a registry of passive and inactive members.
So, once again, welcome. We are indeed
thrilled to have you. We know that we can mutually enrich one another and
look forward to a good relationship.
Much peace and blessing!
In the God who gives
us strength,
Rev. John R. Yonkovig
